아브람이 롯에게 말했습니다.
“너와 나 사이에 다툼이 있어서야 되겠느냐?
네 목자들과 내 목자들 사이에도 다투는 일이 있어서는 안 된다. 우리는 친척이 아니냐?
모든 땅이 네 앞에 있으니, 우리 서로 떨어져 살자.
네가 왼쪽으로 가면 나는 오른쪽으로 가고,
네가 오른쪽으로 가면 나는 왼쪽으로 가겠다.”
롯이 아브람을 떠난 뒤에 여호와께서 아브람에게 말씀하셨습니다.
네 주변을 둘러보아라. 네가 서있는 곳에서 동서남북을 다 불러보아라.
네 눈에 보이는 이 모든 땅을 내가 영원히 너와 네 자손에게 줄 것이다.
Finally Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not allow this conflict to come between us or our herdsmen.
After all, we are close relatives!
The whole countryside is open to you.
Take your choice of any section of the land you want, and we will separate.
If you want the land to the left, then I will take the land on the right.
If you prefer the land on the right, then I will go to the left.”
After Lot had gone, the LORD said to Abram,
“Look as far as you can see in every direction-north and south, east and west.
I am giving all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession.
